Memorial Day 2009

Memorial Day~ Auntie Laura and Jake

Despite the depressing weather (ie. no sun), we were able to make the most of Memorial Day at the Rossis Home. Jacob, Ryan, Kyle, and Erika had a great day playing, laughing, and eating. The adults had some fun too. At the end of the day, Jacob was exhausted and took a nice nap on our ride home. It was an enjoyable day with lots of laughs, drinks, food, and good friends.

8 Months New

8 Months~

Jacob has been on this earth for 240+ days this month. WOW! It feels like just yesterday we were in the hospital with our new "bundle of joy." This has been my favorite month by far. If I am away from Jake for even a few hours, I cannot wait to hurry home to see him, he is so much fun these days...I don't want to miss a thing! Well to start, Jacob has officially learned how to wave "Hello" or "Goodbye." I am very proud. We were out for dinner one night, Jake was in my arms, I turned around to see what he was looking at, and he was "waving" at everyone that walked by...it was so funny. Everyone was waving back...he was so happy. He is still on the "cusp" of crawling. Not quite there yet. He is making his way to objects on the floor though...he is dragging himself all over the floor. My mom said I did that too, and never quite learned how to crawl (I'm also not very athletic either, I hope there is no connection there, please don't let my son pick that up from me)...he is also standing while holding onto things. I'm shocked by this, I thought this new independence thing was going to be one day at a time, one thing at a time, crawling first, then lets focus on standing, nope...he is "getting a little taste of everything" at once. My baby is growing up. It's very exciting though. I love every minute of it. As far as teeth go, Jacob has 4 teeth and 3 more shining their happy heads through his tender little gums at the moment. Jacob has also learned a bad habit when it comes to his teeth, he has learned to grind his (2) top teeth and his (2) bottom teeth. It makes an awful sound, and a really funny face. I was told that it is a habit that some babies pick up as they explore their teeth a bit, it doesn't/shouldn't last long. All is well, we are now enjoying the nice weather and looking forward to moving into our new home. Happy 8-Months, Buddy! Love you the most in the whole world.

Jacob and Alayna

We had a family party at my Aunt's house this weekend, and the 2 babies in the family - that would be my grandfather's great-grandchildren...were able to finally play. My cousin, Rhonda's daughter Alayna is 1- she is such a doll...Jacob really enjoyed playing with her. They are both so cute. Though Alayna is just about walking, the two are pretty close in size, and since Jake is just about crawling, he was getting along just fine...oh, how family parties have changed...

...And then when we got home, Jacob had some dinner and made all of us laugh, especially Grandpa...Jacob's favorite word: "Yummy!"

Mother's Day 2009

Thanks to my Little Beauty Boy for making this the very best 1st Mother's Day. We had a nice day. Lots of relaxing for me...love those naps! How I LOVE those naps. Did I say that I LOVE NAPS?! Awesome. Couldn't ask for anything more. Jake and Rocky also spoiled me with a nice gift certificate to the spa and beautiful roses. That evening, we enjoyed dinner at Bonefish with the entire family. Hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day.

When at Grandma and Grandpa's House...

Everyone reads the paper on Saturday and Sunday Mornings...

Goodbye to a Wonderful Home

Well, we did it. We have officially moved out of our 1st home. A home that we made our own for 5 years. We moved in together right after we were married, we have lots of wonderful memories in that home. Most importantly, it was our baby's 1st home...and the saddest part is that he will never remember it- except in pictures. We look forward to many memories as a family in our new home...but we will never forget...

"Jacob's Ladder"- A type of Perennial that we planted outside our front door when I was pregnant with Jake...in honor of our "Little Miracle." They bloom beautifully.

Oh, and I NEVER want to move again. What Hell it was...it took 2 huge moving trucks to pack up all of our stuff! And we are only 50% complete with the move- because we still have to deliver and unpack it at our new home...in 6 more weeks when we move in...uggh...I can't believe we have to go through it again. The good news is I do look forward to finding a place for everything...in its new home.

Goodbye Bartlett. Thanks for the wonderful memories!

Aunt Lorraine Gets Married!

Aunt Lorraine (Rocky's sister) finally tied the knot with her long time sweetheart, Rick on Sunday. We are so happy for Lorraine, Rick, and Lorraine's 9-year old son, Brenden (Jacob's #1 cousin)...Brenden has a wonderful new step-dad. Rick is such a great person. We are so happy for all of them. Jacob joined us for the ceremony & was a very good boy, then my parents stopped by the reception to take him home to bed, while we were able to enjoy some adult time. A beautiful day for a beautiful new family. Congratulations to the Hervas Family.
