Emerson Statistics

We just had our 2-month Doctor's Appointment yesterday, and Emme is getting so big. We saw our favorite doctor for Emme's 2-month and an ear check for Jacob. Jacob is doing great...his ears seem to be clearing up on their own. His tubes are about out now (they have been falling out for awhile now, still in, just not IN.) So he is more susceptible to ear infections; however, his last one was in November and the Winter is half over (hip hip hooray!), so his ears seem to be maturing on their own because they STILL look great and he has had multiple colds without them turning into ear infections...so things are looking good.

Emerson was a Happy Baby for the doctor- smiling, cooing, and "talking." The nurses and doctors were loving her. And...I officially have a chubber on my hands. She is 11 lbs. 15 oz- 75th% percentile- whataboutit?! (She is bigger then Jacob was at his 2-month, and he weighed an entire pound and 1 ounce bigger than her at birth!) It makes sense, she LOVES to eat! Her height is gaining, she is now 22 inches- 29th percentile. Little Girl is a BIG GIRL...and I love the chubs. Her head is still small (its getting bigger), but it is funny, because she looks like a chunker with a little head!!

She really is a beauty. Still pretty bald, just like her mommy was when she was a baby/toddler (supposedly, I really didn't get much hair until I was 3!) To conclude the appointment, she received a couple vaccinations, and let out a very sad cry...nothing a little milky couldn't make better...did I say she likes to eat?

Here are some pics of my growing girl...in an outfit that she is already growing out of, but I ABSOLUTELY love it (check out the tutu)- a sweet gift from the Dimarias!

2-Months

2-Months~As of January 22nd, our Little Princess is 2-months old!

Emerson is getting so big too! She is holding up her head pretty well. She also doesn't mind tummy time. Emme loves her tongue, and is practicing sticking it out already (Ha!), she has been reaching for things as well...so her coordination is coming along. She is outgrowing 3-month clothes now. Our "Little Peanut" is a hefty "Little Peanut." She has a BIG round tummy and BIG chubby legs. She is longer and longer every morning. And all she wants to do is eat...which is really, the only time she cries...and for a 2-month old, it is one LOUD cry.

Emme is the happiest baby. She turns her head to look at all of us and smiles and smiles and smiles. She goos and coos and kicks her legs. She LOVES her BIG BROTHER...anytime he is around, she turns towards him to smile and coo and goo. Jacob loves to cuddle her and kiss her, and it does make me a little nervous at times, I am worried that he is going to smother her with his smooches...but Emme is again all smiles and goo goos.

She seems to enjoy her activity mat. She also loves to just lay on her back and kick her legs and swing her arms and "talk." She also enjoys her swing and watching the fishies on the mobile.

We just experienced our first mommy and 2-kid outing this month. Emerson and Jacob took a ride in their new double stroller to Kohl's. Emme was as content as can be...the 2-year old- well, he wanted to run around the store, I had to chase him down, and then strap a screaming toddler back into his seat...while Emerson was sleeping soundly. She was such a good girl.

She is sleeping nicely through "most of the night." She has her last feeding around 8:30/9pm, and then she goes down (still in her bassinett- I am not ready to move her to her room just yet)- until about 2:30/3:30 and up again around 7am-and goes down until about 9.

Our 2-month check up is this week...I am so looking forward to finding out how much she has grown.

She has me wrapped around her tiny fingers. She is such a joy...such a gift from God. We are enjoying every moment.

Thank you again for coming down from heaven Baby Girl. We love you SO Much.

A Little Boredom Goes a Long Way...

"Look Mommy", Jacob said with wide eyes proudly, "I am making a rainbow." Smiling as he smeared his greasy hands all over my stainless steel fridge.

"Hmmm" as I thought to myself..."Should I just let him continue -It will keep him busy for a few more minutes..."

Oh...the joys of motherhood.

Whataboutit?! This is my life.

Baby Emme Marie

...She is getting so big...and her personality is shining more everyday!Look at that tummy-I'm pretty sure she is making that face for a reason...her tummy was much more "relaxed" after this photo- LOL!

Dress Up

...Still sporting the paci @ 27 months (really, only @ bedtime- how did it get in this picture?)- Well, we are getting rid of paci, moving to Big Boy Bed, and working (more seriously) on potty training...(I've just been a little slow, I've been kinda busy- but, it is ALL my fault that "the boy" STILL has some lingering baby habits- give me 6-months, he should be all set for pre-school...hopefully). In the meantime, Jake has been using his imagination while being stuck at home with his mom and new baby sister- "stir crazy." He likes to play pretend now, and it is so cute. Every now and then, I will overhear him having a conversation with his toys, etc...his imagination is growing. His favorite "pretend" play is being Woody or Buzz from "Toy Story."

Emerson's 6-week Update

Our Little Princess is growing like crazy and has been a joy these past 6-weeks. Though, I've always thought the newborn stage is so difficult (because of the sleepless nights and no schedules), but Little Miss Emerson has been a very easy baby thus far. Don't get me wrong, she DOES have her fussy times: mornings and evenings- all she wants is to eat (almost hourly) and be held (and poor Jacob has to take second fiddle at times), but she is an overall seemingly happy baby who sleeps fairly well at night (she wakes every 4-5 hours- which is great if you ask me). She has endured some major discomforts; however. She has had some problems pooping. She tries really hard, her face gets beet red, and she cries and cries until she can get something out. Unfortunately, our Little Miss has had some constipation issues- which is the cause of her discomfort. She seems to be doing better each day, and soon this too will be a thing of the past for her. She loves to cuddle. Once she is wrapped in our arms, she relaxes, closes her eyes, and smiles. SMILES has been the newest thing these last couple weeks- smiles and coos- it is so exciting! I love it. During her wake times, she is very alert, she turns her head towards each of us when we speak to her- she smiles and coos and LOVES watching her big brother- who loves to sing and dance for her (I love it, they are already interacting!) I just recently started taking her out more- (not enough where I've used the double stroller yet, mommy is not ready JUST yet- give it a week or so)- she's been to breakfast a couple times and lunch...
Emerson had her 1-month doctor's appointment on December 27th. She received a smiley face for a clean bill of health thus far on her monthly checkup sheet. She (at that time) was weighing in at 9 pounds, 14 oz. (become a little chunker- 58th percentile), and grew an inch to 21 inches (still a little peanut -14th percentile) and her head was also in the 14th percentile. I will say each day she feels heavier and seems longer in her pjs and her head is getting bigger. She has the cutest chunks on her legs and her tummy and cheeks. She is now wearing 0-3 month clothes, and is STARTING to fit into 2 diapers! I am very excited to see how much she weighs now @ almost 7-weeks (I am guessing she has got to be about 11 pounds- we will see) She LOVES to eat and is almost eating 6 oz each time. It is crazy how fast they grow at this time. This is a fun time because now I am able to start dressing her in more outfits and I am loving it. A picture to share... (Do you think she looks like a Baby Jacob with a headband?)

This outfit was a gift from her Auntie Laura (the butt has pink frills on the back and though you cannot see very well in this picture- my favorite part are the sleeves, 3/4 down on the arms are bows- whataboutit?!)~it fits almost perfect- the headband was the "cherry on top"- that was my addition!

Christmas 2010/Baby's 1st Christmas

HO HO HO Merry Christmas!!

Hope everyone had a Very Merry Christmas. We sure did. The Holiday Season was really special this year, it definitely felt like it flew by however...from Thanksgiving to New Years felt like a few minutes to me (maybe because I am not getting much sleep, so it all feels like one long day?) We did truly enjoy it all. This was my favorite Christmas out of all thus far. Jacob REALLY liked Christmas this year. From December 1st, we began "The Elf on the Shelf"- our Elf's name is Marty- named by Jake. We also did The Advent Calendar- Jacob happily was able to open a new window every morning on the calendar and take a piece of chocolate- however he really has yet to get the whole idea of the calendar- that it is a "countdown"- which means we can't choose ANY day we want or eat chocolate from other days, we need to stick to the actual date and so on. We visited Santa at Woodfield. The wait was quite long (1 1/2 hours for a Wednesday afternoon)-but the Santa Claus was a good one, and Jacob did very well waiting patiently and looking at the "Snowglobe" they had set up. Jake was most excited to see his favorite Big Guy- Old St. Nick. He LOVES Santa (and the Easter Bunny). We have enjoyed decorating for Christmas this year. Jacob loved decorating the tree, making ornaments, and baking cookies...everything was JUST a joy for him. His favorite Holiday treat is candy canes.

Christmas Eve, we went to my family's for dinner and presents with 4 Grandkids this year!!!! Last year, my parents had one Grandchild, this year they have 4x that! What a special year. Jacob, Mason, Alyssa, and Emerson were all great babies this year, and we have had so much fun with Mr. Jacob throughout the year, and have enjoyed welcoming Mason (Feb), Alyssa (July), and Emme (November)- we have SO much to be grateful for~!!! Christmas Day, we enjoyed time at home in the morning looking and playing with all of the gifts Santa left for Jacob and Emerson. Then we made our way to Rocky's family- where we enjoyed Tamales and presents again. Jacob received so many presents, that I think by the last gift, he wasn't even interested anymore..seriously! Some of his favorites were- Robee (Yo Gabba Gabba character), Buzz Lightyear wings, dancing Mickey, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Yo Gabba Gabba pjs, and a Peter Pan book to name a few. This was the best Christmas ever for me thus far- to watch my son "get it" and enjoy it...from Christmas songs to handing out presents to everyone else...he just made Christmas what it is all about- love and joy through a child's eyes.

Baby's 1st Christmas~
Little Miss Emerson happily slept, ate, and cuddled her 1st Christmas away. Emme was the BEST GIFT we all received this year, and just made us all so happy. Jacob was so happy to have his Little Sister here this year as well...he was so excited to show her the gift he picked out and wrapped for her! Emerson received some wonderful gifts of her own- her own "Anywhere Chair" from Pottery Barn Kids (Pink and Green!), a glowing Sea Horse (she actually enjoys now), Baby Cabbage Patch Kid (my personal favorite), Barbie (from me! I had to do it. I wanted to make sure I got her her 1st Barbie Doll), MORE clothes (not that she doesn't have enough), and some of her own books. Our "Little Princess" had a wonderful 1st Christmas that she can look back at in pictures one day. Next year, she will really be able to get into this Christmas thing...and we so can't wait.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday! Many pictures to share...
