9-Months Young

Emerson Marie- 9-months~
Emerson Marie is 9-months (as of 8/22/2011)! I cannot believe how time has flown with this Little Girl! She is becoming more and more active, talkative, social, opinionated, and independent everyday. To start with, Emme LOVES to eat!!! FOOD. She wants to eat/drink whatever we are eating, drinking. She loves her new daily "taste tests" and "REAL FOOD" meals. Emmzees loves watermelon, bananas, oranges, potatoes, avocados, spaghetti, chicken, lentil beans, bread, Baby Mum-Mums, plums, pears, raspberries, and ALL flavors of puffs...just to name a few. Emerson has become a pro drinking from her sippy cup, and has now insisted on feeding herself her bottle (total opposite of her brother at this age- who wanted nothing to do with feeding himself...). Emerson has decided enough is enough. She is not into waiting anymore. No more sitting on the floor (her choice, she still won't crawl), jumping in bouncy, sitting in high chair- while mommy is tending to other child...she wants all attention on her!!! She squeals with delight at the sight/sound of her brother (who she seems to be calling "Jay- Jay" - once we figure out what she is sounding out exactly, Jacob Brayden will have a new nickname ). She LOVES going for walks in her big girl (seat)- stroller, sitting in the front of shopping carts, socializing with everyone, sitting in high chairs in restaurants (is just about her favorite thing!!!), playing in the playroom...I just love how Emerson is able to do more "kid" stuff now. She has been SO waiting to be able to do more, and now she is. Emerson is still not quite mobile; however. She has decided she will roll anywhere to get to anything instead of trying to crawl. She does LOVE standing, though, and has become quite good at it, she is now putting one foot in front of the other while we walk with her. She knows how to use her legs in her walker to get to a destination- ie. her bottle sitting on a table, etc.

We are facing one challenge, and hoping it will come to an end sooner than later. Emerson is having regular ear infections. This Summer (the non-sick season), Emerson has had 3x ear infections in a row. The doctor believes she is on the road to tubes, yet we will see how the next few months go (flu season). I know this is no big deal, but I would rather her ears clear up on their own if possible. I will be visiting a chiropractor with her for a few tries to see if it makes a positive difference. Please pray for our Little Girl.

At the end of the day, how blessed we are to have 2 healthy children who are happy and safe. Oh, how my dreams came true (one more time) the day God decided I would have a Girl. She is just so much fun!!!
