A Boy and His Cat Part II

~Jacob and Winston~
What a difference 4-months make-check out the original pic of Jake and Winston when he was just a tiny baby...in "older posts" from November. Winnie and Nina (both our cats) have now both adopted Jake as their "Little Brother."

5 Months

Our Little Boy, our beauty boy, our handsome boy, our funny boy, our lover boy...I can go on and on...what can I say, I am so in love. Jacob is 5-months old today. Wow! These last 5-months have been so amazing and so exciting. I don't want to miss a moment because Jake is learning new things by the second. Just when I think he did the cutest thing ever, he goes ahead and tops it by doing something even greater the next day...I feel like this past month, Jacob has really come into his own. He truly has a personality now. Jacob is such a happy baby. It makes me feel like we are doing something right...His "belly laughs" are a regular thing- and we love every minute of it. On top of his belly laughs, Jacob has learned to add major body movements while laughing, he now gives me a big hug around my neck when he thinks something is so funny...and boy do I need to hold tight because he is moving like crazy. He gets so excited and then starts talking, talking, talking. Did I mention he LOVES his daddy? All Rocky needs to do is walk in the room, and Jacob is shrieking with excitement. The BEST PART: well, the Little Guy has (2) TEETH-yes- TWO!! Talk about an exciting month...and when he laughs, all you see are those (2) "teef" smiling back at you...cutest thing ever.

Well, this month has not come without some challenges...speaking of "teef"- this teething thing is not fun...for Jacob, Daddy, or myself. Not a lot of sleeping these days in our household...it has been a painful process, just when we thought we were in the clear after the first tooth sprouted its pretty head, the second tooth decided to come in. He has also learned how to throw fits during this uncomfortable phase...and he is quite good at those fits...talk about fabulous vocal chords. The teething thing has brought some discomfort to Jacob, but he has been a trooper, at the end of the day, he still finds a way to laugh and smile...after the fits.

(His bottom "teef"- Best shot so far!)

Jacob has become quite the little eater- he is now eating fruits and vegetables- so far he likes all of them...he has been enjoying Bananas, Apples, Peaches, Sweet Potatoes, Peas, and Carrots. And what a boy he is...no table manners whatsoever...his favorite past time this month is blowing raspberries while eating his carrots, bananas, sweet potatoes, and peas and grabbing his feet- Jake gets a kick out of that too. What a boy!

Movement, Movement, Movement- that summarizes this past month. Jacob loves to kick his feet, grab his feet, suck on his feet. He is now finally enjoying tummy time, playing with his toys, rolling over, squealing, trying to move in every direction...and he is. It is such fun!! We are still practicing sitting up, we are almost there. Our goal is to be sitting up by the time we hit the Florida beaches next month.

Toys. Jacob has some favorites: his Elmo, his Bunny, his Froggy, his Fisher Price Nursery Rhyme boom-box, his jumperoo, the remote. Yes...he loves the remote- all of those buttons just amaze him. Of course, we do take it away from him, guess what: he now CRIES when we take something away from him...yep. CRIES. I have a feeling this kid is going to keep us on our toes.

My mom thinks I'm a little crazy because I call her a few times while Jacob is there during my workday...I'm a little psycho...but I just miss him so much, and with all of his milestones, I am afraid that I am going to miss something. I know that those laughs, those big eyes, those chubby hands, those chunky feet, those cute little "teef"- just make it so hard to stay away. This parenthood thing is something else. It is the hardest job in the world, but the most AMAZING thing I have ever experienced. I am so grateful for every second I have with this miraculous human being. Happy 5-Months Goo.

Our Funny Valentine

Jake celebrated another "First-" Valentine's Day. Grandma and Grandpa sent him his first Valentine (with Elmo on it- his favorite!) Rccky and I celebrated at Cooper Hawk Winery and Restaurant while Grandma Rojas watched Jacob. Loren and Brandon were our dates for the evening. We had a great time, we started the evening with a wine tasting, and ended it with a nice dinner. This is our second time at Cooper Hawk. We were there a few weeks ago for my birthday, and Auntie Laura bought Jacob a Vintage Wine onesie...

Oh The Places We Go

Vroom..Vroom.

Jakey loves his Corvette walker/jumper. I've already posted pics of him in his car, but I couldn't resist again...

Happy Birthday, Laura Jean!

The Birthday Girl~

Laura celebrated her birthday a couple weeks ago, and a few of us were there to celebrate. A few of us plus the kids. Jacob had a nice time visiting with Ryan- who seems so much older than Jacob- (yet he is only 8-weeks older), he is a little man- such a cutie ( Ryan is Jackie and Kevin's 6-month old son), Kyle and Erika- they were so good- they watched a movie and then went to sleep ( parents: Suzie and Jim's 5 year old son and 3 year old daughter). Jake was only up for about a half hour, then he was off to bed, slept like a Rockstar, and us adults were able to play. Hope you had a nice Birthday, Laura.
