2-Months Today

I cannot believe it has been 2-Months already! This past month, our little man was moved to his crib. He is now sleeping in his own room...that was a HUGE deal for mommy. Jacob is growing like a weed and each day something new is discovered. This past month Jacob has discovered his hands. He has been putting his hands together, he covers his eyes when he's tired, and is starting to suck on his fist. He is also reaching out at things. Another discovery is his legs. He has been kicking his little limbs everywhere (not just when he's gassy). When he is excited, he kicks his legs in delight. We are starting to dress him in sleepers @ night now because he has been kicking off his receiving blanket. He will be wrapped up at the beginning of the night, and in the morning, he has kicked it all off and has moved several inches in his crib. No more blankets in his bed anymore. Another discovery has been his voice. Jacob has been "talking" quite a bit. He opens up his mouth with a sweet determination trying so hard to get a sound out...he's been saying ooh and coo and goo and smiles while saying it... My favorite sound thus far is his laugh. He laughed for the first time this past week, it was the sweetest sound! Another discovery has been his tongue. Grandma decided to teach Jake how to stick out his tongue...and he does- he will copy you if you are doing it.))

We have our 2-month doctor's appointment this week, so we will find out how much he weighs now. Just 2-weeks ago, he was 11 pounds! He is taking just about 6-ounces at each feeding already. He is now wearing size 1 diapers and is in 0-3 month clothing. It is wonderful to see all these growth spurts and daily changes, it is also reassuring to know that we are doing something right as parents. Currently, the longest Jacob has slept at night thus far has been 6-hours...we are on our way to sleeping through the night...PLEASE let it be soon!!!!!! Tummy time is getting better. He is holding his head up longer and longer each time.

Jacob has been a busy boy this past month. We are now onto Holiday #2 with Thanksgiving coming up next week. He celebrated his 1st Holiday- Halloween with a few outfits, costumes, and parties. We made our first trip to the mall and he was such a good boy. He has also enjoyed the few playdates we have had with little crying, lots of sleeping, and some "talking."

As a parent, I feel that I have grown alot in the last month as well. I am not nearly as nervous as I was a month ago- I was crazy!) I am starting to know his cries and what they mean. I just lived through my first few nights with Rocky out of town, and it was fine. We are STARTING to get more on a schedule (I go back to work in 3-weeks), and I can actually get things done around the house now. What a difference just a few weeks make- wow! This has been the most rewarding experience. Of course I have been working on little sleep, I have only a few minutes to shower if that, have VERY limited time to go the gym, and have not had a real night out; yet, I feel like my life is complete. At the end of the day, though I feel I have accomplished very little, I still feel like I did a TON. What makes it worth it: getting that little boy out of his crib each morning, night, etc...that smile and those eyes are worth everything. Thank You Jacob for coming down from Heaven for Mommy.
