4-Months

"Little Chicklet" is 4-months. Whataboutit?! "Chicklet" is her new nickname...not sure why except that it just rolls off my tongue everytime I think and/or talk about Emerson. Emme has had a BIG month of FIRSTS. Here are some of Emme's latest FIRSTS-

• Rolling over from tummy to back
• teething (feel a tooth, still making its way through)
• sleeping in her crib!!!! Hip Hip Hooray! ***Please see notes***
• Found her voice in the family- screams until someone will pay attention!
• 1st Birthday Partyer- cousin Mason's and friend Landon's
• 1st bout of Stomach Flu
• Tummy Laugh
• 1st time at the park
• 1st time on a walk

Emerson is still an easy going baby, but now it is about "knowing" her needs and wants...and now, SHE WILL LET YOU KNOW. She is a screamer...Daddy has been a little intimidated lately (I think) because he is now realizing there really are 2 girls in the house!!! Emerson may be the 2nd child; therefore, she has NO choice but to be patient, but when she is not comfortable, hungry, or JUST wants attention- EVERYONE knows...Little Chicklet screams it...and is happy once we come running.

She is such a happy baby, still. LOVES to smile, laugh, and coo. Jacob and Emerson are best friends this month...he has started to enjoy more interactions because Emerson will laugh and laugh and kick her legs for him. They are starting to entertain eachother. Big Brother constantly wants to take care of Emerson, he is constantly telling her "I Love you, Emerson." So sweet.

Emerson still has grey eyes...they are beautiful. We will see if they change.

***This month has been a challenge getting Emme comfortable with her crib. She has been sleeping in her bassinett and/or bouncy since she was born. Many reasons for this: since being born in the fall/winter, Emerson has endured numerous colds thus far that included stuffy noses; the bouncy was the best option for her comfort; however, she has gotten too used to it. She also loves her swing, and would not nap in her crib for anything...we are still working on it (every 2 hours of the day- uggh!) The bassinett she has loved immediately because it is just her size, I believe the crib is a bit too big for her comfort- every baby has their own wants and needs, just like us- right? It finally got to the point where enough was enough. The doctor even said I needed to nip this in the butt immediately. So, week by week, she has been sleeping in her crib an hour here and there...and this weekend was "Sleep Training 101"- it was a bit difficult with lots of crying and little sleep, but she seems to be getting the hang of it. I will keep an update on this.

Emerson had her 4-month checkup this week as well (1st time for Mommy bringing 2 kids to the doctor for 2 "well" visits- I deserved the sticker!) Emerson Marie stats:

Weight: 14lbs. 12oz (79th%)

Height: 23 in. (12th%)

Head: 15 3/4 (25th%)

Emme is wearing 3s in diapers and 6-9 month clothes. Whataboutit?! During our checkup, the doc kept thinking she was 6-months!!!! (Obviously, he was very out of it...however, she does look 6-months- the "out of it" point for the pediatrician means one thing- NEVER again will we be seeing him)

***So, she is super beautiful. At 4-months, she is a "plump" baby (as the doctor stated it) with a tiny head. (To me, this is PERFECTION).
