7-Months Young

7-Months~

Emerson is 7-months today! I feel like I just wrote her 6-month post...(well, I kind of just did...)

Our "Little Chunky Baby" is growing up before our eyes. I would like to explain the "Little Chunky Baby" line~ Emme is a chunker, the rolls, the rolls, and some more rolls are beautiful and delicious in every way! The Little Girl; however, is still tiny in every other description~from her baby head to her baby feet and toes...she looks like she could still be a 4-5 month old length wise, but her weight makes her look like she eats a ton! She really doesn't eat anymore than Jacob did at this age actually. She is just tiny length wise and isn't mobile yet, so the rolls keep on coming. She is so little to me still...at even 7-months. She is sitting up! Still topples from time to time...but, I feel like she is still so much a little baby, that I don't have it in me to "allow" her to topple over...I am so scared for that first cry from falling over. She is eating lots of baby foods...this month, we just introduced cereal because her bowel movements (sorry, "Older Emme" when you read this, but I had to journal it) for so long were slow with lots of constipation. Since she has been more "regular" for multiple weeks, I decided it was time to "try it out." She really likes it. And..."regular" she is (sorry again, "Older Emme"- I love you)...she has been pooping 2-3x a day now...which is HUGE!!! Because, the kid wouldn't go for days at a time until 1 "hard" poop made its way out. Poor baby. She is now "regular" and happier for it. She has 2-teeth and a few more SLOWLY coming through, and it has been so painful for Emerson. One can always find her with her fingers in her mouth and trying dramatically to "soothe" her little gums. She HATES Oragel products and anything really that I giver her to help soothe the pain. So we are stuck with the basics: Ibuprofin, Tylenol, teething toys, and cold wash clothes/ice cubes. Just today; however, was a 1st with Emzees 1st teething bisquit that she really just used to push on her tender gums. Sleeping has been great, except for these darn incoming teeth that wake us all up to loud screaming. All she wants to do is be cuddled during this traumatic experience of teething. I have never felt so bad, even when Jacob was teething (he seemed to have an easier time). She is still a happy baby (when she is not in pain). She is loving the life of sitting up and interacting with toys, people, and her cats...LOVES her kitty cats, especially Nina. Emerson (and Jacob) just recently has been introduced to a new babysitter into her life~Allison (a sweet, experienced high school babysitter from the neighborhood)~Allison is so smitten with Emme. Emerson has been pretty cool and relaxed for her as well. Allison comes over while Mommy does stuff around the house or goes down the street to run (that's another story- I am "training" for a mini-marathon with my sister, Karen ~ the "marathon runner" in the family~ this "mini" will be taking place in September~I am really in it for the "training" and to keep myself healthy for my babies more than worrying about actually finishing). Emerson loves the water...her bath time is now play time, she loves pools and splashing. Aunt Karen has a really neat non-skid all soft baby pool that Emme spent almost an hour in today, and she LOVED it!) She has been a busy baby, even while missing a nap or two because of activities for her older brother...(Mommy is feeling really guilty about her loss of some naps because a 7-month old NEEDS her scheduled naps, and literally loses it if she is over-tired (as she should), but she still finds time to smile amongst the exhaustion. She is the best baby girl in the whole world. We are so in love.
