Our Little Prince is 1-Month Old Today!

Our Love Bug
Jacob and Mommy

Daddy & Grandparents

Our "first meeting"

A month ago today, our lives changed forever with the birth of Jacob Brayden. Born at 8:49 pm after 19-hours of labor that finally resulted in a c-section, our little miracle arrived. Weighing in at 8 pounds, 1 ounce. Today, Jacob is just about 10-pounds!!!! He loves to eat!)) The last month has been full of emotions. LOVE is the biggest. FEAR is coming in at a close second. I could never imagine loving anyone or anything more than we love our son. However, I have never been so scared in my life about every little change that occurs with his daily growth.
From his various noises while sleeping to his pooping and gas dramas to his ravanous eating (he eats so fast, I have to remind him to breath)...so cute, yet so stressful when you just want to make sure everything he is doing is normal. (The pediatrician's office probably dreads my weekly calls). I feel like he is growing up so fast, and its only been 4-weeks! Everytime I look at him, he looks more and more like a little boy to me than a little baby...
He is a "snuggler." Even the nurses in the neo-natal at the hospital nicknamed him "love bug."Oh, and he is. He cries and cries until you pick him up, once he is in your arms, he looks into your eyes, stretches out, and falls asleep. He just loves to be loved. Also, Jacob loves his swing. He loves car rides. And just recently has been exploring his "playground mat." He is quite the little "explorer." Jacob loves to look at everything. My (3) favorite things this past month:

  1. Getting Jacob out of his bassinett in the morning. He is SO awake and alert. It makes those LONG nights and EARLY mornings SO worth it.

  2. His coos. Loves to "coo" when staring at something, during bath time, when mommy is talking to him. The sweetest sound I've ever heard & something I look forward to hearing alot more of.
  3. Smiles. Most of them are caused by gas. Many of them are when he is "milk drunk." The others are when he is having a dream. BUT, I've caught a few...meant for me. I look forward to seeing more of them.

Our Little Prince has also taken an interest in mirrors, music seems to calm him a bit more. He is a great companion to take shopping too. Did I mention he loves to eat?

This has been quite a month. The most challenging month of my life. Yet, the most fulfilling month of my life- by far.
