Our Baby Boy is 10-Months Old today. Where has the time gone? I cannot believe it! This has been another month where I can say..."It has been the BEST month yet!" This kid is so amazing to me. He knows way more than I thought he knew...where do I begin?
This past month, Jacob has taught us that he understands the following:
1.) Picks up the phone, puts it on his ear, and "talks!" Rocky and I were tearing up the other day when Jacob did this out of the clear blue. WHAT? When did he FINALLY get it?
2.) Feeds himself with the bottle when he REFUSES to wait any longer for someone to feed him (I swear I feed my kid, sometimes he just likes to take his time, so I give him his time, and then he becomes impatient and does it himself) Who knew?

3.) Knows how to give BIG HUGS. In the morning, I will pick him up out of his crib, and Jacob gives me the BIGGEST BEAR HUG ever!!! I never was a morning person, obviously I have no choice anymore, and this makes it all worth while.
4.) Knows how to give OPEN MOUTH kisses. After a hug, he plants a big open mouth kiss on my face...LOVE IT.

5.) Peek-a-Boo: Plays Peek-a-Boo with his wash cloth at meal time, with his toys, with his books

6.) LOVES his stuffed animals...gives them hugs.
7.) Stands without holding on for a few seconds

8.) Has favorite books: "I Love You Through and Through" AND "Sing With Elmo" - wants these read to him CONTINUOUSLY.
9.) Climbs the stairs...yet waits until you are watching and then "books it" up the steps.
Jacob is such a Boy...he refuses to take the easy way and crawl around something, instead he climbs OVER it.
He also loves more food: hot dogs (turkey dogs), chicken nuggets, and his newest find- fortune cookies. He had his 1st fortune cookie at Big Bowl in Schaumburg last weekend, and loved it.

Lastly, Jacob has experienced his 1st Birthday Party this past weekend, and had a blast...LOVED watching all the kids, playing with all the toys, and just plain feeling like he "fit in" because there were a lot of babies his age at Miss Addison's 1st Birthday Party.
We are overjoyed with his new discoveries everyday. When "they" say babies are like "sponges"- they take everything in...they really do- and then one day, they just start showing you what they've learned. It is fantastic. Jacob Brayden is a sweet, smart, lovable little boy and has so much excitment for life. We are so proud to be his parents.
Jacob's 1st Fortune (from his Fortune Cookie): "You tend to draw out the love in others."

...oh, and he does.
