...Well, our family name is ROJAS- So most people who don't know us personally, would probably wonder why we LOVE St.Patty's Day (besides the GREEN BEER)- I actually have Irish in my family- my Grandfather is 50%- so break it down - I am about 12%, Jake about 6%- Rocky about 0%...LOL! Anyhow, we've always loved the Holiday and have celebrated it much differently before we were parents. This year, we celebrated at Hackney's in Lake Zurich- I have grown up there- the owners are one of my oldest, yet dearest friends' parents. St.Patty's Day is like Christmas for them- so they go all out. As a matter of fact, my dear friend just gave birth to a 9 lb 10oz baby boy last week (no c-section! whataboutit?!) was working St.Patty's Day with her family!!!- another post to follow) We enjoyed a nice Irish Dinner, some great bag pipes, and Green Beer! Jake enjoyed the french fries...and after devouring them...he smelled like a big, greasy french fry! Mmmmm!
This is the story of the NEW Rojas Family. A tribute to the experiences and challenges of our lives as parents to the 2 Loves of our Lives, Jacob Brayden and Emerson Marie. I am a 30-something new mother living in the Chicago Suburbs, wife of 6-years to my college sweetheart, and after 10-years in the media business, I am now a Stay at Home Mom. This is my life.
