March 22, 2010: 18-Months !!!!

Jacob Brayden is 18-Months~ (3/22/10)

...Our Little Prince is more than half way to his 2nd year of Life! Oh my goodness! These past 6-months have been so full of adventure (especially after a long winter of being inside).

We enjoyed the Holidays, Birthdays (both Mom and Dad's), Super Bowl Party, Toddler time classes (2 sessions so far where he has enjoyed learning to play with other kids, doing some crafts, chasing bubbles, and participating in "song time"), Trips to museums, parks, and out for breakfast (Jake's favorite meal), and we are now attending Church again and he is doing fantastic, "Happy Ears" (since getting tubes) and not one trip to the doctor yet since December! Running all over the place, climbing everything, tantrum throwing for everything (I mean, everything!!!! Sometimes he gets mad if I kiss him on the cheek - he will wipe it off!!!!!) Throwing balls, taking 1 nap a day, telling me when he has pee-pee in his diaper (he has a potty and wants NOTHING to do with it), enjoys coloring, and playing with play-dough. Dances to everything. LOVES being outside, riding his bike, and RUNNING. But, his favorite thing to do still by far is reading/looking at books! Just recently , we have given up all bottles (he was drinking only a morning and bedtime bottle for the last 6-months- he's been fine with the change, so onto the next challenge...(I will admit, I think I had a more difficult time with him giving up his bottles, that really means he is less and less a baby now) These last 6-months, Jacob's family has been getting bigger (1 new cousin- Mason and a new Baby Girl cousin on the way this August- Baby Jane).
Lastly, Jacob has been talking A LOT! Lots of words in his vocabulary- seems to be growing everyday- he also has his own little "jibberish" that he does all the time. Jacob is saying about 30 different (and very random) words (from "purse" to "apple"). Growing vocab everyday. He seems to pronounce the second syllable of various words and not the 1st- for example: Baby Ella- he calls her "La" or Baby- he says "Be" or Grandpa- he calls him "Pa" or Gradma- "Ma"...but Jacob pronounces his name as "Buck"- not sure why or how, but that's his name to him (for now).
Jacob is learning how to count (he can count to 3), and he is learning colors too. Jacob Brayden is such a smart Little Boy, but he truly has a very loving, generous heart. He loves to hug and kiss everyone, has been sharing his toys, and enjoys petting his kitties. He brings joy to every moment. His hugs melt your heart. He tries so hard to be gentle and to be a little helper, and to be friends with all the kids. We are truly enjoying every moment as Little Jake grows. Happy 18-months and counting Little Boy! Enjoy this wonderful journey. Daddy and I sure are.

Just recently, a dear friend of ours worked her "photography magic" and did a photo session for Jacob's 18-month pics- her own girls are beautiful, and she can always "capture" the moment, I was truly honored to have her "capture" ours.
